Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist – Sports & Performing Arts Medicine

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our growing healthcare team. This position is ideal for clinicians with experience or a strong interest in Sports Medicine and/or Performing Arts Medicine (PAM).

Our patient population includes athletes and performers from elite adolescent levels through collegiate, professional, and Olympic sports, with activities including (but not limited to) gymnastics, dance, figure skating, overhead athletics, soccer, football, and hockey. The practice owner and several of our physical therapists actively work with collegiate, professional, and Olympic-level athletes, providing a unique and high-level clinical environment.

This role involves delivering specialized physical therapy services within an outpatient orthopedic clinic setting across our four clinic locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong orthopedic and sports medicine clinical skills, advanced differential diagnosis abilities, and experience developing comprehensive return-to-sport and return-to-performance strategies.

Our practice is a unique, independently owned organization with highly specialized clinical programs, offering therapists the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient recovery, performance, and long-term health through individualized, evidence-based care.

All clinicians are expected to be certified (or willing to obtain certification) in the following manual treatment techniques:

  • ART (Active Release Techniques)

  • Graston / IASTM

  • Dry Needling

  • Cupping

  • Taping

  • Joint Mobilization

  • Gait Analysis

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, testing, and treatment interventions

  • Utilize advanced technology and movement evaluation systems to guide treatment and track progress

  • Maintain consistent communication with coaches, club teams, studios, and athletic administrators

  • Educate patients and families on rehabilitation strategies, injury prevention, and home care programs

  • Coordinate referral communication with physicians, community leaders, and partner organizations

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR systems

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care

  • Participate in continuing education, research, and presentation opportunities

  • Apply advanced knowledge of orthopedic anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine diagnosis

Compensation Considerations

Compensation is competitive and based on several factors, including:

  • Direct clinical experience in Sports Medicine and/or Performing Arts Medicine

  • History of community outreach and relationship building with gyms, clubs, and studios (references required)

  • Current continuing education certifications related to the required manual therapies listed above 

  • Personal athletic or performance background

  • Ability to generate referrals and develop local partnerships to support and expand our Sports Medicine and PAM programs

  • Demonstrated motivation, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset

Additional Details

  • Open to new grad applicants and willing to start prior to NPTE testing

  • Clinics utilize advanced rehabilitation and movement technology, including ViMove gait analysis, Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), and VALD performance testing systems.

  • Clinics are also equipped with Normatec Compression systems and BOOST treadmills

  • Collaboration with MedGymPT, our Performing Arts Medicine partner program
