Climb Out of the Darkness: Raising Awareness for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
Climb Out of the Darkness: A Free Community Walk
Raising Awareness + Donations for Postpartum Support International
Saturday, June 24th @ 9:30AM: Katherine Legge Memorial Park, Hinsdale
Climb Out of the Darkness is the world's largest event raising funds and awareness for the mental health of new families. Specifically, this includes folks touched by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD) such as: Postpartum Anxiety, Postpartum Depression, Postpartum OCD, Postpartum Psychosis, Postpartum/ Peripartum PTSD.
1 in 7 pregnant and new parents will develop a perinatal mood disorder this year - but these numbers are more prevalent due to under-reporting. These illnesses can have a lifelong impact on the health of both parent and child if left untreated - and only 15% get the help they need to recover. Please consider joining us and know that the gift of your presence itself at the Climb will provide the healing energy - of the sense of community - that we all need to bear witness to, foster, and grow outwards to all families and parents.
